Priorities & Positions: Opioid Crisis and Addiction
Addiction crosses every political and economic boundary, and isn’t relegated to one sector of society. I have personal experience witnessing the destruction that drugs can wreck on families and society. Addiction is a disease and one that we must treat as such, not a moral deficiency or criminal act. We urgently need funding for better treatment and prevention. We need to work with communities and doctors to help prevent further lives from being lost. I am committed to working toward more support and resources for law enforcement when they encounter overdoses in the field, rehabilitation programs, and preventative programs surrounding the opioid crisis here in Pennsylvania.
